Chanukah and my ankle
Friday, December 15 was the first night of Chanukah. The whole family went over to my parents’ house and had dinner and the little kids all opened gifts. It was fun, and the food was good. It was funny because when we lit the menorah they kids thought they were supposed to blow out the candles, like a birthday cake!
On Friday I had all my dossier documents county certified and overnighted them to Columbus to be state certified. I am hoping to receive them back in a couple of days. I am also hoping to receive my referral this week, but there are certainly no gaurantees on that!
Before Chanukah on Friday I went with my dad to Babie’s R Us, and I ordered Parker’s dress; that should be in within 10 days. My dad bought me the crib mattress while we were there. Thanks, Dad! He’s very excited to have a grandson in addition to the granddaughters.
Last night at our soccer game I was injured. I was trying to keep a ball out of the goal range and completely rolled over my ankle. I heard 3 or 4 distinct popping sounds as I went down and it hurt quite a bit. It’s quite swollen and doesn’t feel good to put weight on. I think I will give it a day more and if it doesn’t improve at all I’ll go get it x-rayed to be safe. It’s not really painful unless I put weight on it, I have nearly the full range of motion in it and only a little pain if I move the ankle while its propped up. My first ever sports injury (that I’m actually considering seeing a doctor for), and it has to be now.
That’s about it for now.
