A Very Long Week

I just know this week is going to be very long. Time always feels slower when you’re anticipating something enjoyable. This Saturday is my baby shower. My sister and mom are throwing it at my parents’ house. I think it will be somewhat unique compared to many showers because not only will there be women there, but men and children as well. I am not one to hold tightly to most traditions, and this is another case where my idea of a shower is much more fun than the traditional one where no men or kids are allowed. There should be 15-20 people, plus 5 or 6 kids ranging in age from 7 months to 9 years. I am really looking forward to having everyone celebrate Parker with me.

This past Saturday I went shopping for yarn with my mom, she is knitting sweaters for the grandkids, and I requested a vest for Parker. So, I picked out some yarn for her to use. Then we went to Toys R Us, and met my brother and my three nieces at Olive Garden for lunch. They are always lots of fun. Lauren, the almost 3 year old is really interested in Parker. On more than one occasion she has asked me where he is, or when he’s coming. She has also told me that he will not be coming out of my tummy. Thank goodness I got that little detail cleared up!

Saturday night I went to a St. Patrick’s day party at my friends’ Brad and Wills…except it’s not part Will’s anymore as he just moved out. Anyway, it was fun.

I also saw the movie 300 the week before last. Pretty good movie. I liked the art style, and the acting was relatively good. My least favorite part of it was the odd voice altering they did on Xerxes. They added like this reverb to his voice to make him more impressive, but it didn’t really work in my opinion…it just sounded out of place. That sucked because otherwise Xerxes would have been very cool.

I bought a new keyboard and mouse last night. Its a logitech “wireless desktop”, which replaces my Microsoft wireless desktop. The only reason I didn’t get another MS one is because the one I wanted of theirs was $80, and I didn’t want to spend more than $50. But, I like the Logitech one well enough. MS and Logitech make the best mice and keyboards that are readily available, so either one give you something that you know is high quality.
