I am using my dad’s laptop while on my trip. It’s older and pretty slow, but worst of all is that the battery doesn’t hold charge anymore…so it has to be plugged in. Right now I’m sitting in the hallway adjacent to my EVA airways boarding gate because there’s an outlet available. Another guy is next to me using his laptop, too.
I am one segment into my adventure to adopt my son-to-be.
I’m in LA, waiting for my flight to Taipei; I have two more hours until boarding. International flying is a whole different game, especially to anywhere further than Europe. There are long lines everywhere, at all the check-in counters…for China Eastern, Air India, Philippines Air, EVA, etc. It moves pretty quickly, but they’re still long lines. It is nice not flying coach; you get to skip some of the lines. Many of the people flying are of course natives or first generation non-natives of the countries being flown to. Since this is the case, many of them are not only bringing themselves and luggage, but also several large boxes of stuff. I can only guess what it must be, probably everything from packaged foods to clothes…all sorts of stuff that you can only get in the US or only get cheaply in the US.
