Sickness - 2.0
My poor little baby is still not doing well. I took him back to the doctor this past Monday, and he said the ear was much better but still showed some infection. Parker An had slipped his fever, too…and from Monday until Wednesday was just fine. Then, he woke up with a 102 in the middle of the night.
Yesterday, Thursday, I already had set up an appointment with the Oak Adoptive Health Center for a followup visit to check on Parker’s health and development. So, I went and met with the developmental specialist and she watched Parker play and interact. She said he is right where he should be for 7 1/2 months old, and that some of his gross motor skills, especially his standing ability and ability to pull himself up onto his legs were ahead of the usual. She said he may be an early walker. Then, I met with the pediatrician and she went over all his previous labs, etc, weighed him (15.5 pounds), measured him, and listened to all his moving parts. Everything was great, except that the ear infection had suddenly gotten worse, and not only that but his other hear was now infected, too…hence, the recurrence of his fever. So, he’s on an antibiotic now and hopefully will be all better in just a few days. He goes from being his nearly normal, smiley, playful self to being very pitiful randomly throughout the day. He’s sleeping with me at night, as he is really craving being held and feeling me next to him pretty all the time.
This weekend we’re just laying low…maybe go to the zoo on Sunday if he’s feeling a little better. I’m sure the fresh air will be good for him. I had planned on attending a potluck cookout on Saturday with other parents who have children adopted from Asia…but, I think it’s best to keep Parker An in a quieter, more one-on-one situation as much as possible.
I have about 150 pages left in Harry Potter 7, I don’t want it to end!
