Vaccines Have Saved Millions
This article from the NYT highlights something we all knew, but now has one more study to back it up - vaccines save lives, LOTS of lives. Most diseases have seen a drop in deaths and serious illness of over 90%! That is amazing, and has saved countless children from horrible illness, death and life-long disability.
The article is based on a study published November 14, 2007 by the CDC.
Stuff like this makes me wish I was working in the field again. It is so wonderful to see vaccine programs spreading to developing nations where people would otherwise not have access to these life saving tools.
There is also a new book out from Dr. Sears (who I’m not the biggest fan of) concerning vaccination.
