Usually, not much at all!
However, if the MOU between the US and Viet Nam is not renewed (and, negotiations are still ongoing on that) that adoptions from Viet Nam will cease on that date. There is a bit of good news in here – while not official yet, it does sound like there is a very strong likelihood that the Vietnamese government has decided that dossiers logged in by that date will be allowed to be processed and the adoption completed. I had this told to me by an old friend, and was able to confirm it with a couple of other people who are “in the know”.

Oh this is good news. Thanks for sharing. Now if we can just work out the problem my province (and others) are having with USCIS….

I was told that the referrals have to given by June 1. The dossier being logged in doesn’t matter. My agency has had no referrals since September, I guess I am out of luck

I know someone who spoke directly with the DIA in Viet Nam this week, and they were told Sept 1 is still the date, but it is still not the official date until a public announcement is made – and, that is still pending a final decision by the Vietnamese government.
