Days of The Dragon

The Doctor and The Zoo

Today, I took half a day off work. I took Parker to the doctor for a few vaccinations - all looks well. He weighs exactly 20 pounds, is 29 1/2 inches tall, and has a head circumference of 17 1/2 inches. On US charts his measurements are in the 5th percentile range - on Asian charts he’s in the 10-25th percentile. So, he’s a bit small, but not unusually small, and he’s very healthy with normal to slightly advanced development. He turns 16 months old in a few days!

After the doctor we went to the Zoo (yeah for zoo memberships!). Parker said his first Vietnamese word! We were looking at the Sun Bears and Parker said "gaw", which is Vietnamese (gấu) for bear. He also will point to elephants in a book when you ask him in both English and Vietnamese (voi - pronounced like voy).

Tomorrow night is the first night of Passover (info here and here), so we’re going to my parents for Seder. Sounds like there will be about 14 people! I am going over a little early to help my mom cook.
