Home and Not So Happy About It
Parker An and I went to Toronto last week, and we had a great time – and, I already miss it. Toronto is one of my favorite cities – it’s safe, diverse, has lots of great food, so much to do, has a big “Chinatown”, lots of sushi joints, exceedingly nice people, etc, etc, etc…
On the way up to Toronto we stopped at Niagara Falls – which are amazing, but not so much so to a 2 1/2 year old.
Parker just completely loved the buses, streetcars, and subways that make Toronto so easy to get around.
While we were there we went up in the CN Tower and since it was a beautiful, clear day were able to see the entire city for miles – Parker seemed to enjoy it a lot. We visited Casa Loma, a small castle on the edge of the city – Parker slept for much of that, not that I blame him. We shopped, a lot!
We also visited the Royal Ontario Museum, which currently has the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit on display – that was cool. Parker enjoyed the exhibits, especially the animal exhibits and the large hands-on children’s area.
The various forms of public transportation were always a hit, and not just with Parker – I love the subways and streetcars.
We got a couple of hotel rooms and my sister and parents came along. It was nice having them there, though Parker’s early wake up schedule didn’t always go over well
One night my sister and I went out to a couple of bars in the city and took in part of a drag show, while my parents watched Parker back at the hotel.
Chinatown was great – lots of fun shopping and food markets. We shopped and bought some books at the Vietnamese book store and ate at a couple of Vietnamese restaurants – it so tasty!
We did a lot of random sightseeing and exploring the city, etc…lots of fun!
Here are a bunch of pictures from the trip…

I actually thought of you in the store right next to this one – they had live octopuses for sale – they were little and so cute!
